Golf influencer Grace Charis has transformed her skills on the course, moving from adult modelling to winning club championships. The 23-year-old, once dubbed Paige Spiranac's rival, has seen her Instagram profile shift dramatically from the bikini-clad and spicy golf outfits that made her famous.
A New Direction on Social Media
Grace, who amassed 3.4 million Instagram followers with her racy content and golf game, now posts different material. Her page features slow-motion videos of her practising and playing, showcasing her skills on the course. She also dabbled in adult modelling, baring all to subscribers of her exclusive content page.
The Californian took up golf properly at the start of 2020, and her content often paired her honing her skills with her eye-popping assets. However, her more serious approach has seen her celebrate winning club championships in a post of her holding a massive trophy aloft.
Winning and Changing Her Focus
Beaming from ear to ear, Grace added the caption: “2 club championships & a bunch of tournament golf blessed to play so many cool courses and meet great people”.
Grace's change of heart comes after she lauded her style and profile for getting more people into the sport. She previously said: “I like the edginess of having your booty and body shape showing in the golf swing, but when I first got into it, I wasn’t trying to be a golfer. It was more about trying to get views and be in the creator's space. I let social media dictate what I’m wearing - this outfit does well, or this outfit is not doing as well.”
Reflecting on Her Impact
She admitted that despite her outfits causing a stir, she insisted she wouldn’t change: “Since going to all the tournaments, like the Open at Troon, and visiting exclusive golf clubs, I’m starting to realise that it’s crazy what I’m doing, but you know, I’m not going to stop. When I first started, I don’t think I had any idea it might have been seen as disrespectful to the game or turning it into something it’s not. But I’d rather focus on the aspect that it’s growing the game. Whether we like it or not, even though it is kind of sexualised, I’m getting a lot of people to come into the game, just watching a golf swing, so I think that’s a positive in a lot of ways.”
Grace previously spoke exclusively to the Daily Star Sport, where she discussed her eye-catching outfits, which often include seductive crop tops and sexy skirts. "I try to be as stylish as possible," Grace said. "I felt traditional women's golf attire needed a big change, so I'm glad to be a part of pioneering that."
Grace only started playing in 2020 and has put her success down to the support of her mum. "I've always had a love for sports, and golf started to catch my eye right at the beginning of 2020," she tells us. "Shortly after I'd say is when I really started to get into practising, and my mom passed down my first set of clubs! I'm glad she had those and was there to support me because that's what led me to where I am today!"
