Ralph Beckett's Gonna Fly (2.15) is tipped to get back on track at Sandown, with the each-way selection available at 14-1 with most bookmakers paying out on five places.
The three-year-old made a winning debut on soft ground last autumn and has been unable to show his true ability in four starts this term. He did win a three-runner Windsor contest in June, but things have not gone his way since switching to handicaps. A wide draw proved his downfall at Glorious Goodwood last time out, and any rain would help his chances at Sandown.
Alfred Wallace backed for Solario Stakes
Alfred Wallace (3.30) should put his experience to good use in the BetMGM Solario Stakes. Several once-raced two-year-olds are high in the betting for this Group 3 contest, which has been won in recent years by subsequent Derby hero Masar and Irish 2000 Guineas winner Field Of Gold.
Although they have the potential, Ed Walker's youngster has proven he can be competitive at this sort of level. It has taken his trainer a little while to work out how to get the best out of this son of top-class Snow Lantern, but his smooth victory in the Listed Pat Eddery Stakes at Ascot last month was a stylish display.
It was always going to be tricky to pull off come-from-behind tactics in the Acomb Stakes at York's Ebor Festival last week, so it was a decent effort to finish fourth behind Classic hope Haffner. Sandown should play more to his strengths. Have 1pt each-way at 11-1, with Sky Bet offering four places.
Rhoscolyn weighted to win at Goodwood
Rhoscolyn (2.00) looks weighted to strike at Goodwood. He has won six times at the tricky Sussex track and has dropped 12lbs in the handicap since landing the prestigious Golden Mile last summer.
There is heavy rain forecast throughout the morning and, if correct, it would turn the ground in his favour. He has not had his conditions too often this season. They were on the soft side at Chester last week, but he did not get a clear run in the straight and he has never shown his best form at that course.
With useful apprentice Shay Farmer taking off an extra 5lbs, he looks to have a great chance at his favourite track. Have 1pt each-way at 10-1, with Sky Bet going five places.
