Tiger Woods will not compete in any golfing majors in 2026 after missing the British Open deadline, following his DUI arrest in March. The 50-year-old crashed his car on Jupiter Island, Florida, on March 27, and blew zero on a breathalyzer test but refused a urine test. Two Hydrocodone pills were reportedly found in his pocket, and he was arrested before being released on bail.
Woods withdrew his name from consideration for the US Ryder Cup captaincy and announced on social media that he was seeking treatment. 'I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,' he wrote. He entered a facility in Switzerland on April 3, returning to the US in May to support his partner Vanessa Trump, who revealed she is battling breast cancer.
Woods also missed all four majors in 2025 due to injury and underwent his seventh back surgery in October. His bar T-Squared Social, co-owned with Justin Timberlake in St Andrews, was listed for sale in May, with managing director Mark Anand citing 'teething issues' and confusion about the venue's offering.
