Massimo Blue backed to defy rise
The son of Territories was a two-time winner for George Baker before joining Dylan Cunha prior to his latest start, in an apprentice handicap over this course and distance 11 days ago. Massimo Blue made a flying start for his new trainer, producing a power-packed finish under Kyle McHugh to beat Toptime by two and a quarter lengths.
There is no penalty for the selection to carry here, so on the back of a 6lb rise Massimo Blue is well ahead of the handicapper. Billy Loughnane takes the mount for the first time on the four-year-old, who gets the Nap vote.
Southwell and Carlisle selections

At Carlisle, the sensible suggestion for the Racing Again Wednesday 9th Sept Handicap (Div I) is Riddikulus (4.30, next best). Having scored twice at Ripon over 10 and 12 furlongs in July, the Grant Tuer-saddled daughter of Ulysses went under by a length to Saxon Grace over the former trip on the Great St Wilfrid undercard at York. The winner was well in under a 6lb penalty after a runaway success at Beverley a couple of days earlier, and a 2lb nudge up the weights may not be enough to prevent Riddikulus from registering a third career triumph.
Lingfield Park tip
Royal County Glory carries top weight in Lingfield Park's concluding Sky Sports Racing Virgin 512 Handicap (4.55) but stands out after a nose defeat at the Surrey course on his first start for Jack Jones a week ago.
