Man Utd Player Ratings: Santos Debuts in 1-0 Loss to Wrexham

Manchester United began their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Championship side Wrexham at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Finland. Sam Smith's first-half strike secured the victory for Wrexham, while Andrey Santos made his debut for United following his £50million move from Chelsea.

First-Half Struggles

United found themselves under pressure early on, struggling to cope with Wrexham's long passes. The opening goal came from a throw-in just before half-time. Manager Michael Carrick heavily rotated his side, with Santos featuring in the first half.

Second-Half Youth Showcase

Carrick made 11 substitutions at half-time, fielding a youthful side in the second period. Despite their inexperience, United appeared more assured in possession. Wrexham also made numerous changes at the break.
