Harry Wright admitted it has been a long wait to get off the mark for Stirling - but now the young winger is ready to help the Binos translate their cup results into league form.
Albion made it two wins from two in the KDM Evolution Trophy after a second straight win over League One opposition, this time coming from a goal behind to win 3-1 away at Airdrieonians.
First goal after 30 appearances
Second-half goals from Wright, Jordan Allan and Danny Dobbie capped off a fine display from the visitors, who moved to within touching distance of qualification for the last 32 with four matches still remaining in the league phase.
The 20-year-old former Hibs graduate was ready to fire up the highlights to re-watch his neatly taken first goal - but then says it will be down to business for a long trip in League Two to Elgin tomorrow.
Wright said: “We’re making it hard for ourselves in the first half of games, but we showed a bit of fight to get the game over the line and the three points.
“It was a nice move for the goal and a good finish; it’s only taken me 30 odd games to do it!
“The goalscoring was something I wanted to bring into the season after the loan move [to Berwick Rangers] last season where I managed to score a few and the plan is to get a few more now and really kick on.
“It was a great feeling to finally get the goal and I’ll be making sure to watch it back a few more times.
“We just need to work hard to take the performances from the cup - which have been good - and get that sort of level in the league, to be more consistent and get some points on the board.”
Chance to end away-day woes
The early-season trek up to Borough Briggs represents a chance for Stirling to pick up their first points of the season on the road after a pair of defeats to Kelty Hearts and Forfar Athletic in their first two matches on the road.
First-half struggles cost the Binos on both of those visits, as well as a leaky defence which conceded six times across the pair of games.
The back door will have to be closed much more firmly in Moray against a prolific Elgin City outfit who have netted 13 times in their four matches already as part of a strong start under new boss Stefan Laird. They were part of a six-goal thriller in the capital as they drew 3-3 with Spartans at Ainslie Park.
