Wealdstone have confirmed they will speak to midfielder Sak Hassan after he played in the Baller League without the club's permission on Monday evening. The 24-year-old featured for Prime FC in the indoor six-a-side tournament, which includes former professionals, social media influencers and celebrities.
The National League club, currently 10th in the table, issued a statement on X on Monday night. It read: 'We are aware that Sak Hassan, under contract with Wealdstone FC, appeared in this evening’s Baller League. The club was not approached for permission for Sak to participate, nor were we made aware of his involvement in advance. We will now be following up with both the Baller League and the player directly.'
Hassan has scored one goal in 25 appearances for Wealdstone, who are scheduled to play Gateshead on Tuesday night. The Press Association has contacted the club for clarification on his availability for that fixture. Wealdstone are 11 points adrift of seventh-placed Halifax Town but have 10 games left to close the gap and qualify for the play-offs.
