Theo Walcott believes Arsenal are still an 'exceptional' side but has identified a vulnerability that could stop them from retaining the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners made an impressive start to the campaign with four wins from their first four league games after a busy summer of spending under Mikel Arteta. However, their momentum was halted before the international break with a 3-0 defeat to Brighton at the Amex.
Walcott's Warning on Away Performances
Arsenal sit three points behind leaders Manchester City, but Walcott suggested his former side must improve their away form to defend their title. Speaking on talkSPORT Drive, he said: 'They remain a little vulnerable away from home.'
Walcott singled out winger Christos Tzolis, saying: 'I like Tzolis, but from what I've seen away from home, I haven't been as impressed. It's difficult to really shine away from home. You can have those players that are great at home or great at training, but can't [do it] away when it really matters. Don't play him, play someone else, play someone who is going to work for the team or do something different.'
Confidence in Arsenal's Quality
Despite those concerns, Walcott believes Arsenal have enough quality to win more silverware this season. He added: 'I think they are exceptional and I do feel they've got everything to retain it. But it's not going to be easy, because they'll want to win the Champions League.'
Arsenal return to action after the international break against Leeds United, who sit fifth after an impressive start to their second season back in the top flight.
