Tuchel hails Kane-Bellingham 'love affair' after Croatia rout

Thomas Tuchel says Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane have formed a "love" affair on the pitch - and they can get even better. The deadly duo have wiped out England's World Cup hangover and got the nation dreaming of winning Euro 2028.

Kane and Bellingham inspired England's record-breaking victory in Croatia as they smashed seven in a win to make the rest of Europe sit up and take notice. Incredibly, Bellingham and Kane have now got ten goal involvements between them in three Nations League games.

Front four 'on the highest level'

Three Lions boss Tuchel has changed their roles to push them further forward together and says England's front four - including wingers Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon - is "on the highest level."

When asked about Bellingham and Kane, Tuchel said: "They were good in the World Cup. They get better and better. They love playing with each other. They understand each other better.

"We adjusted the positions after the tournament slightly, but it's a front four first of all, and the movements and the counter-movements are on the highest level. It's always a team performance, and it was a team performance on the highest level today.

"I haven't seen too many of the Real Madrid matches but I think Jude almost plays a little bit more offensive for us. That's where I see him in the most dangerous position. We can overload both sides now.

"Like I said, we adjusted their positioning after the World Cup. Jude plays on a high level together with everyone else, and yeah, I'm happy about individual performances, but I'm even more happy about the complexity of the team performance."

Record-breaking win in Rijeka

Kane believes England's record-breaking win in Rijeka - it was Croatia's worst-ever defeat - shows that they are building towards realising their dream of winning Euro 2028 and they have put their World Cup hangover behind them.

Captain Marvel Kane added: "We spoke about it after the World Cup. It would have been easy to maybe take our foot off the gas in this Nations League and just get ready for the Euros.

"But I think the biggest missing piece in our team at the moment is playing the big nations consistently.

"If we finish in the top two in this group, we play a quarterfinal against the top nations, a semi final, and a final next year. All great preparation leading into the Euros in a couple of years.

"From our point of view, it's not time to take our foot off the gas. It's time to put our foot down and keep showing not just ourselves but the whole of Europe that we're a real dominant team. Performances like this will definitely show that."
