Trooper Removed After Tunnel Incident with Player

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was sent home from a college football game on Saturday following a physical altercation with South Carolina player Nyck Harbor. The incident occurred after Harbor scored an 80-yard touchdown reception during the second quarter of the game against Texas A&M.

The Confrontation Unfolds

After his impressive touchdown, Harbor ran into the stadium tunnel. As he and three teammates were returning to the field, the trooper deliberately walked between Harbor and another player, resulting in a physical bump. Video footage shows the trooper and Harbor both turning around, with the trooper then pointing at and apparently admonishing the player.

The situation was quickly de-escalated when a teammate pushed Harbor away, guiding him back towards the field. The entire exchange was captured on video and subsequently went viral across social media platforms.

Social Media Backlash and Official Response

The video prompted significant online commentary, with basketball superstar LeBron James among the most prominent critics. James posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating, "That A&M cop needs to suspended! That was premeditated and corny AF!! . He went out his way to start some shit. Do better man."

In response to the incident, the Texas Department of Public Safety issued an official statement confirming the trooper's removal. "Our Office of Inspector General is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter. No additional information will be released at this time," the statement read.

Despite the disruption, the game concluded with a dramatic comeback, as Texas A&M rallied from a 27-point deficit to secure a 31-30 victory, maintaining their undefeated record for the season.
