Tottenham midfielder Jamie Donley is set to undergo a medical ahead of joining Luton Town on a season-long loan.
Standard Sport understands that the agreement does not include a buy option, with Spurs still keen to assess the 21-year-old midfielder beyond this season.
Donley's pre-season and loan history
Donley travelled with Spurs’ first team on their pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, and is said to have impressed Roberto De Zerbi.
However, midfield minutes are expected to be limited at Spurs this season, following the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
Donley spent the first half of last season on loan at Stoke City but struggled for consistent minutes. He was subsequently recalled and sent to Oxford United, where he impressed despite being unable to prevent the U’s from being relegated to League One.
Sarr's potential permanent exit
Spurs have overhauled their midfield options this summer and are also in discussions over a possible permanent exit for Pape Matar Sarr.
The Senegal international, who is attracting interest from Aston Villa, has yet to play for Spurs this season.
De Zerbi has said Sarr is suffering with a hamstring issue, having been afforded extended leave following the World Cup.
Spurs' summer sales and Bergvall's future
Spurs have already raised over £100m in player sales this summer and are believed to want around £20m for Sarr.
De Zerbi has been clear that he cannot guarantee players minutes after a busy summer of spending, but after talks, Lucas Bergvall is expected to stay at the club. Bergvall had expressed a desire to leave Spurs earlier in the summer but is now set to stay and compete for minutes.
