Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz are doubts for Liverpool's Premier League clash with title rivals Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday, while Jeremie Frimpong remains sidelined.
Liverpool, who were in Carabao Cup action on Wednesday, advanced to the next stage of the competition after beating Chelsea 6-5 on penalties in the fourth round, but both Szoboszlai and Munoz were absent from the squad.
Injury concerns for Iraola
Munoz and Szoboszlai sustained injuries during Liverpool's victory over Brentford earlier this month and have subsequently missed the last two matches. Munoz is struggling with a knock, while Szoboszlai has aggravated a previous hamstring problem.
Both players have impressed this season, and their absence would represent a significant blow for head coach Andoni Iraola ahead of Sunday's encounter.
"With Dom and Victor I'm not so sure," the Liverpool boss previously admitted when discussing their availability for the Cup match.
Frimpong and other absentees
Jeremie Frimpong also remains on the sidelines after enduring a frustrating spell of hamstring problems since arriving at Anfield. The defender is not expected to return to action until after the upcoming international break.
Iraola last said: "Jeremie Frimpong is obviously a new muscle injury and it happened, I think, in the second or third minute he was playing, difficult to predict and we will have to wait until he recovers but it's going to be difficult, I think, before the [November international] break. We will try but it’s going to be difficult to have him."
Elsewhere, Hugo Ekitike faces a race to play again before the end of the calendar year after suffering a serious Achilles injury in early April. Right-back Conor Bradley remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from the serious knee injury he sustained against Arsenal in early January.
Leoni closing in on return
Meanwhile, centre-back Giovanni Leoni is closing in on a return to first-team training after being sidelined since September following his comeback from an ACL injury. However, he is not expected to be available until the middle of next month.
Fourth-placed Liverpool will be looking to close the gap on Arsenal, who currently sit six points ahead of the Reds in the Premier League table.
