Cameron Congreve is closing in on a permanent move to Belgian side Westerlo.
WalesOnline understands the transfer will be worth a seven-figure fee if completed, with several add-ons including a sell-on clause. Swansea City will also be entitled to buy back the Wales international should they match the value of any future offer for the winger.
From academy graduate to loan spells
Congreve joined the Swans at under-9 level and was Academy Player of the Season in 2021. He made his first-team debut under Russell Martin in a 1-0 defeat to Blackpool in March 2022.
He then spent a loan spell at Bromley, scoring five goals in 40 league appearances, including a stunning strike against Newcastle United in the FA Cup. Last season, he netted three goals in 34 league outings during a loan at Dundee.
Wales debut and Bellamy's verdict
The 22-year-old made his full Wales debut under Craig Bellamy in the friendly against Ghana and won a second cap in the friendly with Romania.
Bellamy said: "I watched him a bit at Dundee, and I liked him. There were bits you want to see a little bit more of. As much as you can watch from afar, when you really get to see him closely he's really been impressive. He's the type of winger I really like. He's aggressive. He wants to commit full-backs. Top left foot. I've been really impressed by him and he's definitely deserved this call-up. Good kid, handles himself well, speaks well. He's got all the makings that I'd say a Welsh player should have, so I've been really impressed by him."
