Swansea City have reportedly made an enquiry for veteran Wrexham defender Conor Coady as they look to bolster their centre-back options.
The Swans were already keen to strengthen in that position this summer despite landing Celtic's Stephen Welsh on a free transfer earlier in the window. However, those plans may have gained urgency after Cameron Burgess was ruled out for the season with a ruptured Achilles, while there are fresh concerns over the fitness of Ben Cabango, who limped out of the 0-0 draw with Sheffield United at the weekend.
Wrexham likely to listen to offers
According to Football League World, Swansea have identified England international Coady as a possible solution. It seems likely Wrexham will listen to offers for the 33-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic after joining from Leicester City in a £2m move last summer.
Coady made just six appearances for Wrexham and, since returning to the Racecourse, has seemingly remained out of favour with boss Phil Parkinson. He was not included in either of the club's opening two Championship games against Cardiff City and Watford, and an exit now appears the most likely outcome.
Coady opens up on future
Coady suggested as much himself when quizzed on his future towards the end of his spell with Charlton. "When I went there last summer, it was something I really wanted to be a part of and sometimes I think people look at footballers and think something's happened," he said.
"Nothing's ever personal in football. Sometimes a manager just doesn't take to you and I think that was what it was. [But] I've got a really good relationship with Phil Parkinson - nothing's ever happened between us. I had a great relationship when I was there and they were brilliant with me in January when it came to maybe wanting to leave if there was an opportunity."
He added: "Wrexham is a brilliant, brilliant club so I can't sit here now and rule anything out because I don't know what's going to happen."
