Swansea City have reportedly found a potential breakthrough in their bid to sign Valencia's Andre Almeida. The Portuguese midfielder has seemingly been the subject of keen interest from the Swans, amid suggestions in Spain that a fee had been agreed to take him to south Wales.
Player reluctance
However, the main stumbling block appears to have been the player's own feelings about the move. Indeed, ever since the news broke there have been claims that Almeida has shown a reluctance to move to the Championship.
But according to Spanish journalist German Munoz, the player is considering a possible loan spell with the Swans this season. The player, it's claimed, believes he could potentially increase his value and attract interest from bigger clubs should he succeed with the Swans.
Move progressing
At the time of writing, nothing has yet been agreed, but fellow Spanish journalist Nacho Sanchis has claimed "things are moving" in terms of a move. Sanchis reported earlier on Tuesday that Almeida did not train with his team-mates, with Valencia seemingly keen for him to accept the offer on the table from Swansea.
Valencia are believed to be keen on moving on the 26-year-old for a fee, as a sale would help to give them some breathing space in terms of PSR. Whether that ends up happening remains to be seen.
Other targets
The Swans have also been heavily linked with a move for Randers midfielder Ousseynou Fall Seck, with his manager admitting over the weekend that the teenager was likely to be moving on this summer.
