A fire has erupted in a pub in Glasgow city centre this evening. Crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene shortly after the alarm was raised at around 2.40pm on Sunday, October 4.
Incident at The Bistro bar
The incident is understood to have occurred within The Bistro bar on Renfield Street, with a stretch of the road closed between West Regent Street and West George Street as well as West Regent Lane.
Fire crews remain in attendance at the scene as well as officers from Police Scotland.
Cause and public response
The cause of the fire is reported to be a suspected gas leak. No casualties have been reported. The public is being asked to avoid the area.
