Chelsea travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland in the Premier League today. The Blues are looking to continue their form after a 2-0 victory over Manchester United last time out, which followed two straight defeats by Tottenham and Liverpool in the Premier League and Carabao Cup respectively a fortnight ago.
Team News and Form
Xabi Alonso's side returned to winning ways last weekend, with Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer both on target against the out-of-sorts and ten-man Red Devils, who had Lisandro Martinez sent off. The west Londoners, sitting fourth in the table, now visit Wearside to take on Regis Le Bris' struggling Black Cats.
Sunderland's Struggles
The Frenchman has been given a vote of confidence from the club hierarchy in recent days despite his side lying at the foot of the top-flight rankings. They have won just once in their nine games so far this campaign, and they come off the back of a shock 2-0 loss at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.
