Queens Park Rangers manager Gareth Ainsworth has set his sights on ending the club's long-standing FA Cup drought when they face West Ham United at the London Stadium. The Rs have not progressed beyond the fourth round of the competition since 1995, a run Ainsworth is determined to break.
Speaking ahead of the third-round tie, Ainsworth acknowledged the challenge but expressed confidence in his squad. 'We know the history, but this is a new opportunity. The players are focused and ready to give everything to change that narrative,' he said.
West Ham, meanwhile, will be looking to avoid an upset after a mixed run of form in the Premier League. The Hammers have struggled for consistency but remain strong favourites against their Championship opponents.
Ainsworth, however, believes his team can cause a shock. 'We've prepared well and we have a game plan. In the FA Cup, anything is possible, and we're going there to win,' he added.
