Nottingham Forest piled more misery on Tottenham Hotspur with a dominant 3-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, leaving Igor Tudor’s side just a point above the Premier League relegation zone. Goals from Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi condemned Spurs to another defeat, their first home loss since early December. Forest fans taunted their hosts with chants of “We are staying up” and suggestions of a Championship fixture against Stevenage next season.
Igor Jesus broke the deadlock just before half-time, heading in unmarked from a Neco Williams corner. Morgan Gibbs-White doubled the lead on 62 minutes, finishing a move he started by spreading the ball to Callum Hudson-Odoi and then slotting home from eight yards. Substitute Taiwo Awoniyi added the third late on after converting Williams’s cross. The victory was Vítor Pereira’s first league win since taking charge of Forest, lifting them two points clear of Spurs and three above the drop zone.
Tottenham have now gone 13 league matches without a win in 2025, taking just five points from a possible 39. Their last home league victory came against Brentford in December. Despite a bright start, Spurs created few clear chances; Richarlison returned from suspension but was substituted in frustration. Defender Micky van de Ven was replaced at half-time as Tudor sought more attacking impetus, but Forest’s defensive resilience ensured a comfortable afternoon for the visitors.
The defeat leaves Tottenham facing a critical run of seven matches after the international break, starting with a trip to Sunderland. Manager Igor Tudor’s early goodwill, built on an encouraging draw at Liverpool and a win over Atlético Madrid, has evaporated. Forest, meanwhile, are buoyed by back-to-back wins and West Ham’s defeat at Aston Villa, strengthening their survival hopes.
