David Beckham watched from the stands, praising his former Manchester United teammates. Neville played centre-half alongside Carragher, while Scholes and Rooney operated in midfield. The first half ended goalless, with Clarence Seedorf hitting the post for the World XI and David James denying Patrice Evra twice.
