Arne Slot Confirms Liverpool Injury Concerns Ahead of Bournemouth Clash
Slot Updates on Liverpool Injuries Before Bournemouth

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided a detailed update on his squad's fitness ahead of this weekend's Premier League encounter with Bournemouth, confirming that up to five first-team players could be unavailable for selection.

Konate and Chiesa Doubts for Vitality Stadium Trip

The Dutch tactician revealed that defender Ibrahima Konate is likely to miss Saturday's match due to personal family matters, while forward Federico Chiesa faces a race against time to be fit for the fixture.

"I've spoken to him a few times and these are private matters and they should stay that way," Slot commented regarding Konate's situation. "It's very obvious when something like that happens the player needs time to be there for his family and for himself."

Chiesa's Fitness Remains Uncertain

Regarding the Italian international, Slot explained: "Federico wasn't able to be on the bench on Wednesday. There was a recovery session yesterday, [it's] difficult to say if he's available for Bournemouth. Maybe 50-50."

The potential absences come at a challenging period for Liverpool, who are already managing long-term injuries to Alexander Isak, Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley.

Positive News from Marseille Victory

In more encouraging developments, Slot confirmed that no new injury concerns emerged from Wednesday's impressive 3-0 Champions League victory over Marseille, where Joe Gomez deputised effectively for the absent Konate.

"Nobody picked up a knock or problem after the game," the 47-year-old manager stated, adding that he expects all other players involved in the European fixture to be available for selection this weekend.

Manager Reflects on Unbeaten Run

Despite Liverpool's current 13-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, Slot acknowledged the pressure that has mounted due to six draws during that sequence. However, he remains optimistic about his team's progress and defensive solidity.

"In the 13 games unbeaten maybe only the Brighton game we conceded more than 1.0 xG which shows we don't concede many chances," Slot analysed. "We have had many good performances which don't always come to light if you lose too many games as it looks not a lot we do is positive."

The Liverpool boss emphasised his confidence in the squad's development, stating: "We are already in a good place but this team will be in a good place the day after tomorrow and after that. There is a lot of confidence from me looking to the future."
