A Sheffield Wednesday supporter required hospital treatment after having his ear bitten in an altercation outside Hillsborough Stadium before Saturday's match against Millwall. The incident occurred on the bridge near the South Stand at approximately 2.50pm, witnessed by dozens of fans.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed that a 22-year-old man, believed to be a Millwall supporter, was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been bailed pending further enquiries. The victim, a man in his 40s, received stitches to repair the damage and is recovering well.

Sheffield Wednesday are assisting police with their enquiries. The visiting side, Millwall, won the match 2-1. The incident is one of several football-related disturbances reported in recent weeks.
