Luke Shaw has praised Michael Carrick's man-management skills after Manchester United's fourth consecutive win under the interim boss. United beat Tottenham 2-0 on Saturday to solidify fourth place in the Premier League, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes after Cristian Romero's red card.
Carrick has overseen a turnaround since replacing Ruben Amorim in January, winning against Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Spurs. Shaw told talkSPORT: 'He's made lots of differences. But for me, the biggest one is he knows the club, and he knows exactly what's needed to win football matches, to make everyone happy and to enjoy what we're doing.'
The defender highlighted Carrick's understanding of the club from his playing days, adding: 'He knows how to get the best out of the players, and he's really doing that. Of course, winning football matches is always going to make everyone feel better, and the confidence is at a real high.'
Shaw contrasted the current culture with Amorim's tenure, saying: 'The culture is extremely important... How we push each other day in day out, that's one thing Carrick has brought it, and I think everyone's just really enjoying themselves at the moment.' He noted the togetherness, with substitutes celebrating goals and the squad pulling in the same direction.
