Newcastle United forward Sean Neave has hinted he would be open to a loan move in the next week in order to get regular senior football.
The 19-year-old outgrew under-21s football last season, scoring 16 goals at youth level as well as being involved in several matchday squads with the senior side.
Debut season highlights
Neave made his Newcastle debut as a substitute in a Champions League win over Qarabag last term and backed it up by making his Premier League debut from the bench in a 2-0 defeat to Fulham on the final day of the season.
It was after that game at Craven Cottage back in May that he first hinted he felt he was ready for a loan move this season. When interviewed after being presented with a Premier League match ball to commemorate his first appearance in the competition, he reiterated that desire.
Neave's ambitions
"I want to be playing senior football week-in, week-out even if that's a loan or getting dipped in and out of games here, trying to impress the gaffer," Neave told Newcastle's official website. "Whatever it is, I just want to be playing football. That's my passion and I hope this season goes well."
Neave has impressed Matthias Jaissle during pre-season and featured in five out of seven Newcastle friendlies, scoring in a 3-0 win over Darlington back in July.
West Brom involvement and loan interest
Neave only played the first 45 minutes of the under-21s' 3-1 defeat to Tottenham on Monday and is expected to be involved in this evening's Carabao Cup second round clash against West Brom.
He will hope for some minutes to put him in the shop window with, as Chronicle Live reported last week, a number of EFL clubs hovering to take him on loan this season.
