Sarr Set for Fenerbahce Move After Man United Enquiry

Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr is set to complete a transfer to Fenerbahce, according to reports. The move comes after Manchester United made an enquiry about the Senegal international earlier in the summer window.

Move to Turkey Imminent

Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb reports that Sarr is on the verge of sealing a move to the Istanbul side, with the deal potentially being wrapped up within hours. This follows earlier reports from France that United had sent an enquiry about the 28-year-old to Palace, but no official approach was made.

Sarr, who previously played for Watford, contributed four goals and two assists for Senegal in the recent World Cup, keeping his stock high among Turkish clubs.

Potential Reunion with Rashford

Interestingly, Marcus Rashford has also been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, meaning the pair could become team-mates. The Sun recently reported that Rashford is a £40m target for the Turkish heavyweights, and his name has been mentioned on a potential transfer list alongside Sarr and AC Milan's Rafael Leao.

Whether Fenerbahce are willing to sign both Sarr and Rashford remains to be seen.

United's Midfield Focus

United's main transfer focus this season has been on strengthening their midfield. They have already added Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Andrey Santos from Chelsea, and are close to completing that part of their squad. The club is also hopeful of signing another defensive midfielder to complete their transformation in the middle of the park.

Left-back is another area they want to reinforce, with Newcastle's Lewis Hall a target, although he may be difficult to sign as the Magpies have reportedly labelled him untouchable.

Left-Wing Concerns

Left-wing has also been an area United are keen to strengthen, despite investing in the front line last season. Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko all arrived last season, but none have featured regularly on the left. Sesko is currently struggling with a shin injury and recently returned to United's Carrington training ground to work on his fitness. He has not been part of any pre-season squads this summer due to the injury.
