Time For Sandals Tipped to Upset Lazzat in Haydock Sprint Cup

Lazzat, winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, heads the betting for Saturday's Sprint Cup at Haydock, but the hot favourite faces stiff opposition from a pair of lightly-raced three-year-old fillies, Time For Sandals and Sky Majesty. Jerome Reynier's gelding failed to reproduce his best when favourite for the Prix Maurice du Gheest last time out, leaving the Group One contest open.

Both fillies have just seven career starts to their names. In the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, Time For Sandals was a cosy winner, finishing nearly six lengths clear of Sky Majesty. While Sky Majesty has since improved to win a Listed contest and a Group Three in Ireland, Time For Sandals was beaten on her next start when dropped back to five furlongs in the King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

Harry Eustace's filly struggled for running room a furlong out at Goodwood, and the return to six furlongs is very much in her favour. Both Timeform's ratings and the Ascot form suggest that Sky Majesty still has something to find with Time For Sandals.

At around 8-1, Time For Sandals looks too big to add an all-aged Group One to her already impressive career record, making her the best bet at the odds in the 3.35 contest.
