Bukayo Saka has committed his long-term future to Arsenal by signing a new five-year contract that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2031. The deal, announced on Friday, makes the 24-year-old England winger the highest-paid player in the club's history, with wages reportedly exceeding £300,000 per week.
Saka's previous contract was due to expire at the end of next season, but Arsenal moved early to secure his services amid interest from clubs across England and Europe. The academy graduate expressed his delight, stating, 'I feel immense joy to continue my journey at this club. For me, it was an easy commitment and I just hope to win everything here.'
Since breaking into the first team, Saka has become an integral part of Mikel Arteta's side, making 239 appearances and scoring 78 goals for the Gunners. This season alone, he has netted seven times in 34 matches, including a strike in Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Wolves. He currently ranks top for goals, assists, shots and chances created among Arsenal players.
The new deal is a significant boost for Arsenal, who are competing for an unprecedented quadruple this season. They sit top of the Premier League, are through to the last 16 of the Champions League, the fifth round of the FA Cup, and face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. Saka also captains the side in the absence of Martin Odegaard.
Saka, who has scored 14 goals in 48 appearances for England, is expected to be part of Thomas Tuchel's squad for the 2026 World Cup. His contract extension follows similar long-term agreements for William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly last summer.
