Ronnie O'Sullivan, the seven-time world snooker champion, once purchased a £130,000 narrow boat named Morfe Lady Three, which he used as a retreat from the pressures of his career. The 60-foot boat, moored on Regent's Canal in London, featured a lounge with an indoor fireplace, a modern kitchen with a double oven, a double bedroom, and an en-suite bathroom. O'Sullivan described it as 'no big yacht but it's alright' in a Eurosport interview.
The snooker star had previously lived on a boat in London about seven or eight years earlier and wanted to replicate that experience. He explained that the boat offered a sense of freedom and relaxation, unlike a hotel room: 'I come in, have a little kip, put the snooker on, the TV on, have a few friends come in. You don't feel like you're cooped up so much. It's nice to see water.'
However, O'Sullivan's work commitments led him to sell the boat after just a year, listing it for £129,950. He did not purchase another narrow boat afterwards. Since then, he has won two more world titles, though his most recent campaign ended in a semi-final defeat to Zhao Xintong at the 2025 World Snooker Championship.
O'Sullivan, who returned to professional play after an extended break, struggled with confidence partly due to issues with his cue. He snapped his previous cue earlier in the year and had to change its tip before facing Zhao. Despite a level start at 4-4, O'Sullivan lost 17-7. Zhao went on to win the title by defeating Mark Williams in the final.
