Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has made a plea to the club's board to sign a new striker, as current forward Adam Idah continues to struggle in front of goal.
The Irishman, who joined the Hoops earlier this season, has failed to consistently deliver the attacking spark needed, prompting Rodgers to demand reinforcements.
Rodgers Calls for Competition
Speaking ahead of Celtic's next fixture, Rodgers emphasised the need for fresh competition in the squad. "Every player needs that push, that challenge to keep them at their best," he said. "Adam is a talented lad, but he needs someone pushing him to regain his sharpness."
Idah's Struggles in Front of Goal
Idah, who arrived with high expectations, has managed just a handful of goals this campaign. His lack of clinical finishing has raised concerns among fans, with many questioning whether he can lead the line long-term.
Rodgers, however, remains supportive of the 22-year-old, insisting that "confidence is key" for any striker. "When you're not scoring, it plays on your mind. A new signing could lift the whole group."
Transfer Window Looms
With the January transfer window approaching, Celtic are expected to explore options for a proven goalscorer. Names such as Lawrence Shankland and Bojan Miovski have been floated as potential targets.
Rodgers hinted that the club is actively scouting: "We're always looking to improve. If the right player becomes available, we'll move."
For now, all eyes remain on Idah—can he rediscover his form, or will Celtic bring in a new face to take his place?
