Robertson Shuts Down Liverpool Contract Questions Before Galatasaray

Andy Robertson has acknowledged that his Liverpool future is uncertain as his contract expires in five months, with no firm offer yet on the table. The Scotland captain, who turns 32 in March, turned down Atlético Madrid last summer and may have several options if he becomes a free agent.

“We’ve had chats now which will remain private; we’ll see what happens,” Robertson said. “I’ve got five months left and we need to see the option to stay or if there’s options to go. I’ll sit down with my family and decide.”

The left-back has lost his regular starting role to £40m summer signing Milos Kerkez, starting only four Premier League games this season compared to Kerkez’s 17. Robertson admitted the reduced playing time has been frustrating, stating: “I always want to be on the grass and playing and obviously now that’s not happening, so that’s different.”

Despite the uncertainty, Robertson insisted his relationship with Liverpool remains strong. “I’ve given absolutely everything for the club and the club have been very good to me,” he said. “Nobody can deny what I have given to this club. My relationship with the people higher up has always been excellent.”
