Jude Bellingham trained with Real Madrid ahead of their Champions League last-16 second-leg against Manchester City, but manager Alvaro Arbeloa confirmed he will not be available for Tuesday's match. The England international has been sidelined since February 1 with a left hamstring injury, missing nine matches in all competitions.
Arbeloa stated that Bellingham wanted to travel with the squad to his home country, but is not yet ready to play. “He won’t be available tomorrow,” Arbeloa said. “I’m happy to see him getting closer to returning – he’s going to be one of the leaders and it’s important that he’s here with us.”
In more positive news, Kylian Mbappe is fit to feature after recovering from a knee injury. The French striker missed the first-leg against City after aggravating a pre-existing issue in training. Initial fears of a lengthy absence have been allayed, with Mbappe back after just over three weeks.
Both players are expected to be available for international duty, as France and England prepare to announce their squads for the March break.
