Real Madrid have fined midfielders Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde €500,000 (£432,000) each following a training ground altercation that resulted in Valverde being hospitalised.
The incident occurred on Thursday, with Valverde sustaining a cut to his head. The Uruguayan later denied that the pair had "come to blows", but he has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Reports suggest the dispute stemmed from a previous clash during training on Wednesday, reflecting a reportedly unsettled atmosphere within the squad. Manager Alvaro Arbeloa's side are preparing to face rivals Barcelona in El Clasico on Sunday.
Both players appeared before a disciplinary investigator at the club on Friday, where they expressed regret and apologised to each other, as well as to the club, teammates, coaching staff, and fans. They accepted whatever sanction the club deemed appropriate.
Real Madrid subsequently imposed the financial penalty on each player, concluding internal procedures. In a separate incident, defender Antonio Rudiger and teammate Alvaro Carreras were involved in a heated argument during training, which was later resolved after Rudiger apologised. Additionally, Kylian Mbappe reportedly clashed with a member of Arbeloa's coaching staff prior to last month's 1-1 draw with Real Betis.
Barcelona can clinch the La Liga title if they avoid defeat at home on Sunday.
