Rangers are confident they can strike a quick-fire deal for Kim Min-Su if they decide to push ahead with a move for the Girona ace. The South Korean is among a list of wide options being monitored by the Ibrox club's recruitment chiefs.
But as things stand, the Light Blues have yet to push the button on a £8.5million bid that would trigger an automatic release clause in the 20-year-old's contract with the Spanish second division outfit. However, Gers have been assured that striking personal terms with the versatile frontman will be no obstacle should they go ahead and submit an offer.
Decision pending at Ibrox
Record Sport has been told Min-Su is unlikely to arrive over the weekend, with Ibrox technical director Dan Purdy and chief executive Jim Gillespie still weighing up whether he's the best option to present to boss Derek McInnes.
Min-Su, who prefers to play off the left but can operate on the opposite side or off the front, joined Girona in 2022 and has made over 70 appearances for their B team in the Spanish lower leagues. He was promoted to their first team in 2024, making three appearances before being sent to FC Andorra last term, where he turned out 40 times for the Segunda Division outfit, scoring six times and laying on another four assists.
Interest from other clubs
Girona are bracing themselves for an offer, with a number of other clubs also interested. Record Sport revealed on Thursday that Gers have opened talks with Besiktas over a potential return to Glasgow for Vaclav Cerny. The finances involved in that deal make it unlikely but sources at Ibrox say conversations with the Turkish giants are "on going".
Meanwhile, Gers insiders insist they've heard nothing from German side Leverkusen despite claims on the continent that the Bundesliga outfit were weighing up a huge £25million move for Manny Fernandez.
