Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Hannover winger Daisuke Yokota, according to a report. The Ibrox club have thrashed out a transfer worth up to €4million (£3.4m) for the 26-year-old.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims a "verbal" agreement has been reached, with Rangers paying an initial €3.3million and a potential €700,000 in add-ons. Yokota scored five goals and provided four assists for the 2.Bundesliga side last season.
McInnes prioritises creativity
Manager Derek McInnes has prioritised adding creativity to his squad after Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw away to Dundee United on the opening night of the Premiership season. The club had also been linked with a loan move for Coventry City's Jahnoah Markelo, and talks have taken place over Brighton's Amario Cozier-Duberry, who has already rejected a £5million bid from Anderlecht.
Yokota is the most likely arrival at this stage, although he will not be signed in time to feature in the Europa League third qualifying round clash with Jagiellonia Bialystok. McInnes confirmed his squad for the match on Monday evening before flying to Poland for the first leg on Tuesday, with the return at Ibrox a week later.
