Rangers Accused of Hearts Robbery as Fans Turn on McInnes

Rangers dropped two more points in a lacklustre draw at Tynecastle, prompting furious fans to turn on manager Derek McInnes and accuse the team of 'robbing' Hearts.

Callers to the Sports Hotline were scathing in their assessment of the performance, with many calling for McInnes to be sacked immediately.

Fans Demand McInnes Exit

Gordon Blackwell, Glasgow, was far from happy. He said: "Another two points dropped because of McInnes' negativity. Sideways, backwards and slow build-ups. Never up to the job as Rangers manager. Go now and take Dan Neil and Naderi with you. Offer nothing and overrated."

Iain Morrison, Livingston, said: "Another dross display by Rangers. I've said for years, and will never be convinced otherwise, Derek McInnes is not the man for Rangers. The selections and substitutions are baffling. We played with invisible men last night in Djeidi Gassama and Dan Neil, who is never captain material. Emmanuel Fernandez, a ticking time bomb. Since we beat Celtic, we've gone backwards."

Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "It's time for Derek Mcinnes to drop Manny Fernandez before he gives up more points. Makhanya is papering over the cracks by covering for him. If a club comes in for Makhanya in January we are in big trouble. And £20m for Makhanya would be an absolute bargain for the buying club."

Hearts 'Robbed'

Joe Sneddon said: "Big Manny is definitely box office material. The problem is the box office he reminds me of is Bambi on ice."

Peter Cooperwhite said: "Let me start by saying we got out of jail to salvage a point. The majority of the team was absent on the night. But then I must ask Hearts supporters where was your team's energy against the same Celtic team that Dundee United could get a draw from? Ask your players the same question."

Ian Renton said: "I am a Rangers supporter, but all I can say is Hearts were robbed. I cannot remember a worse performance from Rangers recently. They fouled their way to a draw. I like Kim but he had a dreadful game and should have been off at half-time. Why did the manger wait till the 85th minute to bring on three subs? Hearts played the way football should be played and I feel sorry for them only getting one point. Kris Boyd was correct when he said Rangers have stolen a point."

Celtic and Aberdeen Under Fire

Celtic maintained their lead at the top but their draw with Dundee United was far from convincing.

Gerard Milligan, Renfrewshire, said: "Celtic Park is no longer a fortress, it's more like a mattress – they go to sleep there. Four defeats and one draw already, most see it as a patch of grass to play on and are no longer intimidated."

Steve McSherry, Uddingston, said: "What a missed opportunity by Celtic against Dundee Utd. We never started to play until the second half and by that time the damage was done. Our defence is absolutely shocking and if it wasn't for our closest rivals being poor we could have been in a lot of trouble."

Michael McAlinden said: "First half, Hogh up front with Duran and Donavan who don't play crosses into the box. Second half, take Hogh off and introduce Hassan and Jota who do put crosses into the box. Explain that if you can!"

Meanwhile there was a call for Stephen Robinson's head after Aberdeen lost 1-0 to Falkirk at Pittodrie.

Tam Bain, Desborough, said: "I've said it a couple of times now, Stephen Robinson has to be sacked immediately. The money he had at his disposal and he puts out dross like that. Do the decent thing Robinson and walk away, your reputation is in tatters, you might get a job in the Highland League. Utter garbage."
