Prince William, a devoted Aston Villa supporter, has disclosed that his 11-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte does not share his football allegiance. During a visit to Nansledan in Cornwall, William revealed that Charlotte is a Chelsea fan.
William's Revelation
While touring a housing project supported by his Duchy of Cornwall estate, William met children from Nansledan Primary School. When told one pupil supported Chelsea, he responded: "My daughter loves Chelsea." This confirms Charlotte's independent choice, as William has always maintained he would not force his children to support Aston Villa.
Royal Football Preferences
Prince George, William's eldest son, appears to follow his father's footsteps as an Aston Villa fan, having attended several matches including last season's Champions League quarter-final. Prince Louis, aged eight, reportedly supports "about five different" teams, as William joked previously. The Prince of Wales himself began supporting Villa at age 11, choosing the Midlands club over Manchester United or Arsenal after watching an FA Cup match against Bolton.
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is also believed to support Chelsea, a fact revealed in 2015 during a Christmas party at the Anna Freud Centre. Prince Harry reportedly supports Arsenal, while King Charles is a fan of Burnley, and the Duchess of Edinburgh supports Sunderland as patron of its charitable foundation.
William's revelation came the day after Aston Villa's historic Europa League victory, a 3-0 win against Freiburg in Istanbul, marking their first European trophy in over 40 years.
