Prince George joined his father, the Prince of Wales, at a Premier League match on Saturday, watching Aston Villa defeat Nottingham Forest 2-0. The nine-year-old royal, seated just five seats away from England manager Gareth Southgate, was visibly thrilled as Bertrand Traore scored the opening goal three minutes into the second half. Ollie Watkins sealed the win with a goal in added time, moving Villa into the top six of the league table.
Both the Prince of Wales and Prince George wore matching outfits: navy blue jumpers paired with pale blue open-necked shirts. The outing comes ahead of Prince George's role as one of eight Pages of Honour at the coronation of his grandfather, King Charles III, next month.
This is not the young prince's first football match; he attended the Euro 2021 final at Wembley with his parents, where England defeated Germany. However, during the Euro 2022 women's final, Prince George, along with his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, cheered on the Lionesses from home as they beat Germany to win the championship.
