Anthony Joshua has launched a scathing attack on Tyson Fury, branding him a 'd***-rider' after Fury used Daniel Dubois's performance against Joshua to question the latter's chin. The two heavyweight rivals are expected to face each other later this year, with Joshua first taking on Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Saudi Arabia.
Fury had earlier pointed out that Dubois failed to knock down other opponents but succeeded multiple times against Joshua, suggesting 'AJ' has a weak chin. Joshua, speaking at a press conference in London, hit back: 'I just felt like, as a boss, you can't ride the next man's success. It's Dubois's success. How are you sitting there thinking that, because Dubois had success, "Yeah, that's what part of what I'm doing." That's not a boss; a boss is gonna create his own lane.'
Joshua also referenced Fury's controversial win over Francis Ngannou in 2023, where the former UFC champion dropped Fury before losing on points. Joshua himself knocked out Ngannou in the second round earlier this year. 'We could all talk about what Ngannou done to him, we can talk about what Usyk done to him,' Joshua added.
When asked if he had sought advice from Oleksandr Usyk on how to beat Fury, Joshua said: 'I've fought Alex, and he didn't need to do that with me. What I'm saying is, what Alex does to Fury... we're all different characters. Maybe [I'd ask about those things], but... I know he read Fury's book before he fought him, and you learn a lot about someone when you get to understand their psyche.'
