Naval Tribute is tipped to secure his third win in five starts when he lines up in the South Downs Water Handicap (4.35) at Newbury on Monday. The James Owen-trained five-year-old, who has already tasted success at Kempton Park and Beverley, impressed on his latest outing over two miles at Ascot, finishing second behind Believeitanducan. That form was boosted when the winner followed up at Chester on Saturday.
The British Horseracing Authority has raised Naval Tribute by 1lb, but the son of Sea The Stars is still expected to go one better under jockey Cieren Fallon. The race is a six-runner affair at the Berkshire track.
At Wolverhampton, A Lott Of Kane is the next best selection in the Free Digital Racecard At raceday-ready.com Classified Stakes (8.30). Despite a wide draw in stall 10, the three-year-old, trained by Chelsea Banham, won convincingly over six furlongs last time out and should handle the drop back in distance.
The daily double recommended by Newsboy is Naval Tribute and A Lott Of Kane.
