Netflix has confirmed that Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua will be streamed live at no additional cost for its 325+ million members. The long-awaited heavyweight showdown was officially confirmed on Wednesday, with Cardiff's Principality Stadium set to host the fight on 11 December.
Fight details and venue
The bout, described as perhaps the most anticipated in British boxing history, will take place just weeks before Christmas. Netflix has become a major player in the boxing market in recent years, having hosted Fury's last fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, along with Joshua's victory over Jake Paul last December.
Other Netflix fights include Paul vs Mike Tyson, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs Terence Crawford, and the trilogy fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.
Subscription costs
While the biggest fights in boxing have traditionally been reserved for pay-per-view, Netflix has confirmed this fight will be included in standard subscriptions. UK subscription prices increased earlier this month, with a standard account with ads now priced at £7.99, and a Premium account set at £20.99.
Undercard and promoters
The statement officially confirming the date and location namechecked boxing shot caller Turki Alalshikh, The Ring and Dana White, but not Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn, the respective long-time promoters of Fury and Joshua.
The undercard for the night is still in the works, although reports suggest there could be some huge names involved. Boxing Scene reports talks are underway for Manny Pacquiao to return to the ring to face Shakur Stevenson, with the streaming giant thought to be pushing hard for another huge fight to be added to the bill in Wales. Pacquiao, an eight-weight world champion, retired following a defeat to Yordenis Ugas in 2021 but returned last summer at age 46 to challenge Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title in a bout that ended in a draw.
