Jose Mourinho's father, former Portugal goalkeeper Jose Manuel Mourinho Felix, has died at the age of 79. The Manchester United manager posted a black and white photograph of himself as a child with his father on Instagram on Sunday, without any accompanying comment.
Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal, for whom Mourinho Felix played and later managed, confirmed the news on their website. They stated that his funeral will take place on Tuesday morning. The club expressed its solidarity and deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
Belenenses, another former club of Mourinho Felix, also issued a statement offering condolences. Mourinho Felix played for Belenenses between 1968 and 1974. The club sent its deepest sympathies to his wife and son Jose Mourinho during this difficult time.
