Morata linked with MLS move two months after Como signing

Former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata could be on the move again this summer, just two months after joining Serie A side Como on a permanent deal. The Spain international moved to Como in June after a loan spell from AC Milan, with the move made permanent this summer.

MLS interest

According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Major League Soccer outfit Atlanta United have expressed an interest in signing Morata. The US-based club are looking to bring in a striker, with another former Chelsea star, Romelu Lukaku, also identified as a potential target. However, Lukaku reportedly prefers a move to Fenerbahce, leaving Morata as a possible option for Atlanta.

Morata's recent career

Morata spent three years at Chelsea from 2017 to 2020, leaving to join Atletico Madrid permanently after a loan spell. He then had stints at Juventus, Milan, Galatasaray, and Como. During his loan at Como last season, he made 26 appearances without scoring, as the club finished fourth in Serie A and secured Champions League qualification.
