Saturday's Championship clash between Wrexham and Norwich City was briefly suspended after a medical emergency in the crowd at the Racecourse Ground. Players from both sides left the field with the score level at 1-1.
Norwich had taken the lead through Anis Ben Slimane inside the opening ten minutes, before Sam Smith equalised for the hosts midway through the first half. The game was halted five minutes into the second period.
Both clubs confirmed the stoppage on social media. Wrexham stated that the match had been paused due to a medical emergency, while Norwich expressed their thoughts for those affected. Wrexham later added that the supporter had been taken ill, and the players would return for a five-minute warm-up before the game resumed.
After the restart, Jovon Makama scored in the 59th minute to secure a 1-2 away victory for Norwich. The win leaves the Canaries 22nd in the table, one point from safety after Portsmouth's win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Wrexham, who have earned three consecutive promotions from the National League, sit eighth with 10 wins, 10 draws and seven losses. Automatic promotion looks out of reach, but a play-off berth remains a possibility.
