Derek McInnes believes Min-Su Kim will give Rangers a new dimension after the club completed an £8.5 million swoop for the South Korean winger.
Rangers have secured the Girona attacker on a four-year deal that includes the option of a further 12 months. McInnes, who took over at Ibrox in June, has been keen to strengthen his wide options and is pleased to have finally got this deal over the line.
Deal ends long search for wide reinforcements
The Rangers boss had come close to several deals, including a move for PSV attacker Couhaib Driouech that broke down after an injury issue was revealed in the Moroccan's medical. Now he is relieved to have secured Kim, who has been rated as one of the hottest young talents in Spain during his four-year stay with the Catalonian outfit.
Hailing the signing of the 20-year-old, McInnes said: “We are delighted to welcome Minsu to Rangers. Strengthening our options in the forward areas has been a real target and focus for us throughout this window, and we believe he will add another exciting dimension to the squad.
“Minsu is a talented young player with excellent technical ability, energy and a real desire to develop, and we are looking forward to working with him.”
Kim ineligible for Conference League clash
Min-Su is not eligible to feature for his new side in tonight’s Conference League shoot-out with Czech side Jablonec. But he could be given a baptism of fire when the Light Blues head north to face Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday.
Rangers are also closing in on a £9 million swoop for Portland Timbers striker Kevin Kelsy. Meanwhile, Nico Raskin appears to be on his way out of Ibrox, having been left behind in Glasgow as talks take place on a big-money move for the Belgian international.
