Record-Breaking Menu Costs and Culinary Highlights
The Northern Irish golfer, aged 36, seized the opportunity to design the pre-tournament feast ahead of his title defence, resulting in the most expensive menu in the dinner's history. With an average cost of approximately £251 per person, McIlroy's offering nearly tripled the expense of Scottie Scheffler's menu from the previous year.

In a 2022 interview with Golf Digest, Wayne reflected on the aftermath, noting mixed reactions. He stated, Well, they say there's no such thing as bad publicity. I found out that that's not quite true. Despite apologising to the club, his ban remains firmly in place, highlighting Augusta National's strict adherence to its protocols.
