Maya Jama has shared a rare loved-up mirror selfie with Manchester City defender Ruben Dias, fuelling reports that the couple are taking their romance to the next level. The Love Island host, 31, is said to be considering a move to Manchester to be nearer the 28-year-old footballer, with whom she has been spending increasing amounts of time.
The pair first met at the European Music Awards in November and initially kept their relationship under wraps, going on secret dates before being seen together at one of Dias's matches in Portugal in March. A month later, they were spotted kissing and cuddling at KSI's Baller League event in London. Their relationship was made official during a sun-soaked trip to the Amalfi Coast in June.
According to a source cited by The Sun, Maya has grown fond of Manchester's character and its growing status as a celebrity hotspot. "Maya loves the down-to-earth nature of Manchester, as well as the glamour of the football and WAG scene," the source said. "Bristol and London will always be special to her, but she is loving spending more time in Manchester with Ruben. The city has become a celebrity hub — with The Brit Awards scheduled to be held there for the first time in February."
Reports suggest that Maya has stayed at Dias's luxury apartment, enjoyed meals prepared by his private chef, and been spotted on dates around the city, including a visit to the Apple store in the Arndale Centre last month. She is also said to have introduced Dias to her mother, Bernadette, and has been taking Portuguese lessons to learn her partner's native language.
Dias joined Manchester City in 2020 for a reported £57 million. He previously dated Portuguese singer April Ivy and was linked to former Love Island contestant Arabella Chi. Maya, meanwhile, had an on-off relationship with rapper Stormzy, which ended for good last summer after they reunited in 2023. Earlier this year, she told the Evening Standard: "I am so happy right now but the next person I meet I want to marry and have kids with, so obviously I'm feeling fussy. I've created such a nice life for myself alone and I don't want anyone who's not going to add to that."
