Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has pleaded not guilty to charges of dangerous driving and driving without insurance following a crash on the A34 in Cheshire last August. The 23-year-old, currently on loan at Ipswich Town, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday where he entered his plea.
The incident occurred on August 20, 2023, when police were called to a collision involving Williams' Audi A3 S Line and a Ford Fiesta near the Wilmslow bypass. Williams was arrested at the scene and later charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
During the hearing, Judge Simon Berkson set a trial date for March 17 next year, expected to last three days. Williams, who earns £65,000-a-week at Manchester United, was granted unconditional bail.
Williams has not played for Ipswich since December 2023, with manager Kieran McKenna citing an unspecified injury that required him to return to United for recovery. His contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of June.
