Manchester United have arranged a tribute following the death of Rhys Bennett's father, David. The young defender announced the heartbreaking news on social media, describing himself as 'devastated'.
The club has granted Bennett compassionate leave and is providing pastoral care. In a statement, United said: 'Everyone at Manchester United is sending love and support to Rhys Bennett, whose father, David, passed away over the weekend.'
As a mark of respect, the Under-21s will hold a minute's silence and wear black armbands during Tuesday night's National League Cup fixture against Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.
