Manchester United are in a transfer battle with Newcastle United for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, with the Slovenian reportedly favouring a move to Old Trafford despite the club's lack of European football next season. According to German newspaper Leipziger Volkszeitung, Sesko's agent is in talks with both clubs, and the player would 'undoubtedly' choose Ruben Amorim's side over the Champions League-bound Magpies.
United have already missed out on several striker targets this summer, including Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres, and are keen to avoid another failure. The club have signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for a potential £71 million, but the priority remains a centre-forward.
Meanwhile, Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens has expressed interest in joining United, who are considering a move for the Belgian as competition for Andre Onana. Lammens is available for €15-20 million (£13-17 million) and told reporters: 'Manchester United are one of the best clubs, yes. But you never know. It could also be a different club, or who knows, I might stay here.'
In other news, Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in signing winger Antony, whom manager Ruben Amorim is desperate to sell. Antony would consider the move, according to his agent, which would allow United to offload another unwanted player after Marcus Rashford's departure to Barcelona.
