Manchester United travel to Italy to face Como in the Champions League this evening, with Michael Carrick's side looking to bounce back from a 1-1 draw against Leeds in the Premier League last weekend.
Como present a stiff test. They sit fifth in Serie A under Cesc Fabregas and opened their Champions League campaign with a 4-1 win against RB Leipzig.
Defensive crisis deepens
Carrick is without Lisandro Martinez (injury), Ayden Heaven (illness) and Leny Yoro (suspension), while Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo have also been ruled out.
That leaves a threadbare squad, and our writers have shared their preferred starting XIs for the game.
Tyrone Marshall's XI
Tyrone Marshall believes this is Carrick's most difficult team selection yet, given the injuries and the challenge of fitting players into their best positions.
He would stick with the same formation used at Leeds, with De Ligt starting in a back three alongside Maguire and Mazraoui. That would allow Dalot to continue on the left and Amad on the right.
Marshall would also keep Baleba, Santos and Tielemans in midfield, with Tielemans and Fernandes as dual No. 10s behind the in-form Mbeumo, who he calls the best source of goals in the team at the moment.
Steven Railston's XI
Steven Railston notes Carrick has been dealt a rotten hand with injuries, meaning De Ligt is likely to play his first game since picking up a back injury against Crystal Palace on November 30 last year.
He would use a back four of Dalot, Maguire, De Ligt and Mazraoui, which he says is good enough to get a result in Como.
Railston would keep the midfield from the last two games, with Baleba and Santos providing defensive cover and Tielemans excelling in the advanced role. He would rotate Fernandes out, saying the midfielder looks in need of a rest.
He also highlights Lacey, who has not played since his goal against Brighton in the Carabao Cup, calling him a serious talent who could light up the game.
